Crisis Coffee
Social Impact
Crisis is the nationality charity for people experiencing homelessness. In 2015, Crisis had 3 cafes in Newcastle, Oxford, and London and had just opened its first charity shop in Finsbury Park. That year, I joined Crisis where I managed the shop floor and trained individuals looking to find work, gain confidence, or rehabilitate after being in prison. In my first two years at Crisis I increased coffee sales by 20% and oversaw approximately 50 individuals gain employment or go on to complete further education.
Enterprise
After working with individuals for two years, I moved to the projects team where I wrote the business case to expand coffee bars in charity shops. I managed the expansion in 4 of the locations in London and supported the shop project manager with the overall design and opening of the shops. At the same time, I collaborated across departments from Marketing to Fundraising to build a corporate partnership with Volcano Coffee Works where coffee is still sold.
